A man claiming to be from IYogi called me on my cell phone on10/17/2017, to refund me my $299.00 because they can no longer provide service. They said that they have my bank information and routing number and I just had to install a program on my computer and insert my name and a code that they told me.

After, that they wanted to know the name of my bank but I wouldn't tell them because they claimed they had my bank info. Next they wanted to know if I did online banking or have a paypal account and I said no. Next, this microsoft box appeared and they wanted my key code and I said I don't remember it and that I didn't want the refund. I told myself that I needed to uninstall the progam they had me put on my computer.

I strung him along on the phone trying to find out where my programs were and I uninstalled it. The man started saying what are you doing why are you going there and I realized that they were seeing what I was doing. My computer screen went black and I asked the man why can't I see what he was doing to my computer? He said that they have the right to remove their software from my computer.

Then he put my computer screem back on. He went into my favorites onto my SMUD online account and my password came up he said is that your account and I hate a liar. He said that he was going to take $2,000 from my account. I called my bank on my home phone while I was trying to reach a live person he said thst he was going to take another $500.

I told the bank lady what was happening to me and I put her on speaker phone so that she could hear what the man was saying to me. Next he put me on Skype and I could see myself. The bank lady said to put a towel over the screen and turn my computer off. After a while I turned my computer back on and he put a password on my computer so I'm not able to get into my computer.

I took it to Office Max computer and all they can do is put it back to factory settings and put Windows 10 on it and it will cost me $249. Also, in my computer I have a document saved in Microsoft Word in my computer with all my passwords for the sites I use on the web. That evening I changed my passwords on Facebook, Paypal, Amazon, AOL, SMUD, Home Depot etc. The next day I requested new bank credit cards, store credit cards, ATM card and a new checking account.

I called AOL and they informed me that my account was on high alert because someone from three different states tried to access my email. My computer has been off for three days and I'm afraid to turn it on again. My computer is 2 years old and I paid $800 for it . But, I'm just scared for what he might have put on it that I am just thinking about throwing it away.

I can't sleep, I'm sad and angry. I wasn't going to let others know what happenrd to me because I felt stupid and ashamed for what I let someone do to me. After, I did some research and found out that others were scammed I dedcided to tell my story.

I believed he was from IYogi because I had a contract with them for a couple of years. They have fixed my computer remotely three times.

For about 6 years I used iyogi with great success. No problems except they were ALWAYS upselling, but I am good at saying NO.

Then late one night I called for help and no one answered their phones and an automated message said to call the next day during changed business hours. I did, I was helped but felt they were experiencing problems. I checked for reviews and found several people were having issues with iyogi. My contract was nearly up so when they asked me to renew early, with a discount, I said I would think about it.

I never called back, then started getting calls from the right number for iyogi : since iyogi never had initiated calls I felt their number had been spoofed. I am sad for people who were scammed but I can surely see how it could happen, especially to people who had so successfully used their services. I received a call today, answered the phone but did not speak.

I could tell a live person was on the other end but they finally hung up. I have now blocked their number AGAIN and listed it with NOMOROBO
